I took both of these pictures while walking to the Arb. For the first photo, I liked the color and texture so I decided to take a close up of it. For the second photo, I took a picture because it reminded me of a Monet painting. I wanted the photos to be calming and relaxing. I had some problems taking the first picture because the wind was blowing and it was moving the plant.
Red and Green
Tranquility
I took a picture of the berries because I liked the contrast of the red berries and green leaves. I wanted the focus to be on the berries and leaves closest to me. For the second photo, I wanted to take a picture of the stream. I decided to include the tree to make it more interesting and create a sense of depth. Overall, I wanted to convey a feeling of serenity with these photos.
Trapped
Spikes
I took these pictures in the Arb. I decided to take the first picture because I liked how the branches looked. I made sure to take the picture close to the branches to create a feeling as if the branches were coming towards the camera. For the second photo, I took a picture of this tree because of its bright green color. I decided to take a close up to capture the texture of it.
Fall Colors
Tree Twirl
I also took both of these photos in the arb, but they were both taken in different parts of the arb. In the first picture, the trees were on a hill, so I took a picture from below facing up toward the trees. At first, I only took pictures of the green and yellow trees, but then I realized that it would be more interesting to also include a tree with red leaves. I wanted to capture the different colors of the trees during fall. I took the second photo because I liked how the trees were tangled.
Flowing Water
Eye of the Wood
I took a photo of the water because I liked how clear it was and also the effect of the light in the water. I took a pictures where there were some rocks to add something to the photo. The second picture is part of a tree that broke. I liked the colors of the wood and contrast between the darker and lighter parts. However, I didn't like how these pictures turned out as paintings because the original and painting look very similar.
Green Suspense
Obscurity
I took both of these pictures while moving the camera to create a feeling of thrill. I wanted the forest to look scary and lonely.
